Spurs limit Knicks fans to 150-mile radius

Spurs restrict – Ahead of Game 5 of the 2026 NBA Finals, the San Antonio Spurs are restricting ticket sales to customers living within a 150-mile radius of Frost Bank Center, a move aimed at limiting out-of-state Knicks fans after New York’s dramatic Game 4 comeback.

The night Knicks fans celebrated is the same night Spurs officials started drawing lines. New York’s supporters were over the moon after the franchise pulled off a historic comeback in Game 4, erasing a 29-point deficit to beat the Spurs and take a 3-1 lead in the 2026 NBA Finals.

With the Knicks officially one win away from clinching their first title since 1973, the next home game became a magnet for visitors. A sold-out moment would usually mean a flood of traveling fans, but TicketMaster’s listing for Game 5 now includes a clear warning aimed at out-of-state buyers.

On the TicketMaster page for Game 5, the restriction reads: “Sales to this event will be restricted to customers residing within a 150-mile radius of Frost Bank Center.” Frost Bank Center is the Spurs’ home arena in San Antonio.

Game 5 is set for June 13 at 8:30 p.m. ET, and the Spurs are framing it as a must-win setup—one they believe is already under pressure from Knicks fans who are expected to be active both inside and outside the arena.

San Antonio knows the stakes are larger than just the matchup. The Spurs entered the championship series with momentum. dethroning the 2025 champions Oklahoma City Thunder in the West Finals after seven games. But New York has been a tough opponent so far. San Antonio is down 3-1 after the first four games. including a brutal start at home: the Spurs lost their first two home contests in Games 1 and 2.

The Spurs’ best answer has been consistent production at both ends. Victor Wembanyama has led the team as the leading scorer with 27.8 points per game, adding 10.5 rebounds, 3.3 blocks, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest.

Stephon Castle has followed with 16.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, while Dylan Harper is contributing 16.3 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest.

Now San Antonio is leaning into Game 5 as the moment to keep its season from slipping away. The restriction on ticket sales—centered on that 150-mile radius around Frost Bank Center—suggests how seriously the Spurs are treating the atmosphere New York fans can create as the series moves one step closer to a title that hasn’t been theirs since 1973.

  1. Wait, 150 miles?? My cousin lives like 160 and was gonna go… that’s annoying. Also TicketMaster always feels shady anyway.

  2. I don’t get it—if Knicks fans are causing trouble then arrest people? Limiting based on ZIP code feels like they’re blaming the whole state. Plus Game 4 was a comeback, so yeah fans travel, that’s kinda the point.

  3. This is wild like they’re drawing circles on a map like it’s 1990. Next they’ll say no one can wear blue unless they’re from Texas. And didn’t Oklahoma City fans do this same thing last year? I swear I heard something similar.
