Spencer Pratt Unwinds in Hawaii After Mayoral Loss

Spencer Pratt took a Hawaii vacation with wife Heidi Montag after finishing third in Los Angeles’s mayoral race, even as he claimed he has recordings that could force Karen Bass or Nithya Raman to resign.
Spencer Pratt walked into his own kind of campaign reset on Sunday, June 14—pairing politics with flip-flops.
The reality star joined his wife, Heidi Montag, in Hawaii as she filmed a music video for her new song “Summer Love.” While Montag posed in the waves and soaked up the tropical sun, Pratt stayed close by her side, dressed casually in shorts and a button-down, drink in hand.
For a man whose last days were dominated by election math, it was a striking change of pace. Pratt finished third in the June 2 Los Angeles mayoral race. He had been in second place on election night, then slipped as mail-in ballots were counted over the following week.
The political picture didn’t go quiet after that. Nithya Raman and incumbent Mayor Karen Bass are set to go head-to-head in November.
On the beach, though, Pratt looked far from his campaign trail days—at least in public. It was a moment that stood in contrast to another thread that hasn’t faded since the results: his insistence that he has something explosive.
After the election. Pratt posted a three-minute video claiming he has a recording that could force either Bass or Raman to resign. “If you think we uncovered a lot of fraud and evil in the campaign. just wait. ” Pratt said in the clip. “We have some recordings of one of your exalted candidates doing and saying something that would make her resign in shame.”.
He went further, saying he plans to release the recordings after the general election. “Go ahead and pick your demon, certify your choice and then you get to see it,” Pratt continued. He also urged Bass and Raman to consider the source of any alleged material. warning. “So. Karen [and] Nithya. ask yourself. is it possible that one of your employees may have a recording of you doing or saying something that would force you to resign in disgrace?”.
During that same stretch, Montag publicly backed her husband. After the results were announced, she took to X and wrote, “I couldn’t love my husband more and be more proud of him. What an inspiration, what a hero.”
Her support has shown up before, too. In April, she shared backing for Pratt amid his run for mayor. “I wouldn’t be here without him,” Montag told Us Weekly. “He is so. so incredible.” She also spoke about the role Pratt plays behind the scenes as she continues pursuing her music career. saying. “I mean. I’m the record label. so we have a lot of work to do.” She added that releasing music independently is “more than just showing up and performing. which is awesome. and very hard work too.”.
Pratt, for his part, has described Montag’s hustle in equally direct terms. “Heidi is an actual angel superhero,” he told Us Weekly last month. “She is working so hard to continue putting out new music and paying for our kids’ food and working so hard to be. you know. the single [breadwinner]. ” he added.
The couple—who wed in November 2008—are parents to two sons: Gunner, 8, and Ryker, 3.
So even with the mayoral loss behind him, Pratt appears to be splitting his attention between two very different worlds: one set to wrap up in November, where Bass and Raman will face off, and another—right now—where Montag is filming in Hawaii and Pratt is trying to enjoy the downtime.
Whether he follows through on his pledge to release the recordings is still a question hovering over everything. For the moment, though, the beach version of the couple is the only story the sun seems ready to tell.
