Spencer Pratt posted a pointed question on X on June 11 after councilwoman Nithya Raman beat him in the runoff for Mayor of Los Angeles, setting up a November rematch against incumbent Mayor Karen Bass.
Spencer Pratt waited just long enough for the numbers to keep moving—and then asked the question everyone was watching on June 11.
“For the third time, no one showed up?” wasn’t the vibe. It was sharper than that. In a brief post on X, the 42-year-old former The Hills reality star wrote: “Are they done counting yet?”
It was Pratt’s first public word after he was shut out of the runoff race for Mayor of Los Angeles. Earlier this week, councilwoman Nithya Raman defeated Pratt, booking herself a spot as the second candidate in the race for mayor.
The decision came with votes still being tallied from election night last week. At one point, 93% of the votes had been counted. Raman pulled far ahead of Pratt and will now face incumbent mayor Karen Bass in the election this November.
As counting continued in California on June 10, Pratt stood at 216,783 votes, translating to 25.52% of the counted votes. Mayor Bass held 291,397 votes, while Raman recorded 246,333. In the L.A. County results, Bass was at 34.30% and Ramen was at a growing 29%.
More election results were expected later on Thursday, June 11, but they were not anticipated to significantly change the standing at that point.
Raman, meanwhile, framed the loss as something bigger than one ballot outcome. In a press conference, she pledged to Pratt’s supporters that her campaign would deliver on the changes they want to see in Los Angeles.
“I think Spencer Pratt tapped into very real frustrations that people are facing here in this city. ” Raman said. per ABC7. “I think they’re looking at a city that has failed on some of the most basic functions and is still asking us to trust the city on solving even more complicated things like homelessness. like our affordable housing crisis. and they’re seeing in that a real lack of trust and a lack of faith – and a real frustration about the direction that the city is heading in.”.
“I share that frustration,” she continued. “I share that frustration. and I think we can use this moment. and we can use this campaign. and we can use a new mayor in City Hall to demand that change and to deliver that change for Angelenos. I want them to expect more from the city, and I want to deliver more from the city for them.”.
The sequence is stark: Raman surged while counting progressed, Pratt’s vote totals landed behind her as of the latest ballot update, and then—after being locked out of the runoff—Pratt returned with a single line aimed at the ongoing tally.
