Spencer Pratt and MAGA Bash NY Gov Kathy Hochul for Sporting Hijab at Islamic Center: ‘Bowing to the Third World’

A grip of pro-Trump social media users, Spencer Pratt, and one notable Republican lawmaker went off on New York Governor Kathy Hochul (D) for wearing a hijab at a recent event hosted by a Muslim organization, with many saying a brief video of her speech proved the self-proclaimed feminist was nothing but a hypocrite.

The clip of Hochul donning a black hijab went viral on X on Sunday, two days after she spoke at the Islamic Cultural Center School in the Bronx. The “End Wokeness” X account shared it and racked up more than 4 million views by Sunday afternoon with the clip, which you can see below:

Hochul’s hijab was immediately condemned soon after.

The New York Young Republican Club posted the governor was “being her typical self: bowing to the third world.”

While Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) mocked Hochul, saying liberals like her complain President Donald Trump is “turning America into the Handmaid’s Tale” — only to then cover their heads.

Pratt, who recently lost his bid to become the Republican mayor of Los Angeles, similarly mocked “Feminist icon” Hochul for it.

“Slay, kween!” he posted.

Hochul said she “very much” identified as a feminist when she was asked if the label fit her in 2023.

“I know what it’s like to struggle. I know what it’s like to not have, you know, easy time of it because of being a woman no doubt about it,” Hochul said at the time.

Several other users beyond Pratt and Gill said her claim to be a feminist was completely undermined by her sporting the hijab.

Others said it was a terrible look for Hochul to wear the hijab two weeks before the 25h anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks, with one user suggesting Hochul should be banned from the

Hochul has not responded to the critics of her hijab.
