‘Southern Charm’ star shares body transformation in before-and-after photos
Southern Charm star Rodrigo Reyes is showing off just how much his body has changed.
On Friday, August 7, the reality star and interior decorator posted before-and-after photos on Instagram taken four years apart.
“I never thought I’d post that first photo,” he wrote of the pre-transformation pic.
‘Locking in’
“At the time, I was embarrassed by it and embarrassed by how much I felt like I’d let myself go,” he continued. “I certainly never imagined there would come a day when I’d willingly put it on Instagram.”
“Looking at it now, I don’t really feel embarrassed anymore. I see a version of myself who was about to make some changes,” he added.
The TV star noted that there wasn’t “one big transformation moment” for him but rather he “just started locking in.”
‘Proud of the consistency’
Reyes mentioned before that he’s been working out with his trainer, Daniel Knieriem, and that “being more consistent” is what really made the difference.
He attributed his progress to “finding a routine I could actually stick to” and “staying active even when I didn’t particularly feel like it,” along with “making better choices more often than not … and then doing it again the next day.”
The Bravo star said he’s “proud of the physical change” but added that he’s “probably even more proud of the consistency it took to get here.”
The ‘realities’ of weight loss
However, Reyes admitted that there are also “realities that come with losing a significant amount of weight,” including loose skin.
“But I’ve learned that doesn’t take anything away from how proud I am of what I’ve accomplished,” he said.
Reyes went on to say that the transformation ended up changing his whole lifestyle. “[I feel] better. I’m stronger. I’m more active. And taking care of myself has become part of my life instead of something I’m constantly trying to start over,” he claimed.
‘Give yourself time’
He wrapped up his post by saying it’s “pretty wild to look at these two photos side by side and realize they’re both me.”
“Turns out a lot can change when you give yourself time, keep showing up and get a little tan,” he quipped.
Reyes joined Southern Charm in Season 9, which debuted in September 2023. He started out as a “friend of” the cast before working his way into a full-time spot on the reality show.
