Sophie Cunningham debuts as WNBA studio analyst June 17

Sophie Cunningham will step into WNBA studio analysis for USA Network starting Wednesday, June 17, as the Indiana Fever chase momentum and the broadcast expands under a long-term media deal.
On the same night Sophie Cunningham is preparing to shift from the court to the studio. she’s also trying to keep the Indiana Fever’s momentum alive. Cunningham will make her broadcast debut when USA Network airs New York Liberty vs. Chicago Sky at 8 p.m. ET, followed by Las Vegas Aces vs. Phoenix Mercury at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday, June 17.
The reason the timing matters is simple: Cunningham is carrying this streak in real time. Against the Toronto Tempo on Tuesday, she scored 24 points and hit six made 3-pointers as the Fever extended their winning streak to four games.
“Our team’s just starting to catch a little bit of rhythm,” Cunningham said. “We’re seeing what works. We sharing the ball. Defense is allowing us really good offensive runs.”
That rhythm is the kind of thing she’ll be looking to translate off the court, too. Cunningham hopes the way the Fever are clicking now will carry into her new role as a studio analyst—an opportunity that arrives through USA Network’s 11-year media deal with the league.
Under that agreement, USA Network will broadcast at least 50 games beginning in 2026 and running through 2036. Cunningham’s studio job is part of that expansion, and her transition isn’t happening from scratch. She’s an eight-year WNBA veteran with media experience. having previously served as a guest analyst on the Phoenix Suns’ pre- and postgame broadcasts in 2022.
She’s also already familiar to podcast listeners. Cunningham currently co-hosts a podcast called “Show Me Something,” which she created with Summer House star West Wilson.
By the time tipoff turns into studio soundchecks. Cunningham will have two storylines running in parallel: a Fever team sharpening its offense with defense sparking “really good offensive runs. ” and a league broadcast preparing to grow its reach with new voices in the booth. For Wednesday, June 17, her name sits at the intersection—game-night impact, followed by a fresh role on television.

WNBA analysts now too? Cool I guess, but can she also explain why tickets are always crazy.
So she’s doing studio work while still playing? That seems like a lot. Also USA Network starting 50 games in 2026?? That’s wild, I feel like they should’ve already had more.
I think this is just a marketing thing because the Fever are on a “streak” and they want her face on TV. Like what happened to actual analysis? She’s gonna be biased in favor of Indiana or whatever. And 6 threes vs Toronto?? That’s cute but Toronto’s not exactly… idk.
I saw the headline and thought she was getting traded or something lol. But nope, she’s going to be on USA Network—started Wednesday June 17, Liberty vs Sky then Aces vs Mercury. I’m not even sure why the date matters except she scored 24 points the day before? Either way I hope the Fever keep winning because momentum is everything, right? Also media deal for 11 years sounds like forever, like will they even still be on USA by then?
