Before the curtain on House of Gestures. guests gathered for a lineup of experiences. including a Creative Talk led by Dom Pérignon Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon and French artist Claudine Drai. The conversation turned on the theme of “Place” — and how it shapes artistic creation and vintage expression.

By the time the evening rolled in, the event had also shifted into tasting mode. Attendees were among the first to sample the newly unveiled Dom Pérignon Vintage 2018, described as the first vintage fully shaped under Chaperon’s direction as Chef de Cave.

  1. So they just drank champagne at the Guggenheim and called it art? I mean I get it’s Dom Pérignon, but still seems like a giant photo op.

  2. Wait Tilda Swinton did a performance in the museum atrium right? That’s kinda cool but also like… did they actually understand it or just watch while posing? I saw “House of Gestures” trending somewhere so I assumed it was like a dance thing.

  3. I’m confused, is this the same Dom Pérignon thing where they “unveil” a new vintage every year? Vintage 2018 being shaped under that Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon… okay but wasn’t the bartender the one who poured it lol. Also Solange was there so I’m guessing it was more music vibes than art vibes. Tory Burch too, so yeah fashion people gonna fashion.
