Letters to the Editor: Snowbirds grounded, PM residence delayed

(A decision was made, they are executing, and it will be done. Meanwhile we can’t even decide to renovate the PM’s residence) LIBS FAIL ON SNOWBIRDS Re “Snowbirds to be grounded following 2026 season” (Eddie Chau, May 19): More like, Snowbirds grounded by our political propeller heads. Canada’s Snowbirds jet precision aerobatic team of speed, maneuverability and synchronization will have replacement planes sometime in the far future. And be what? Their outdated CT-114 Tutor jets will be replaced by the turbo-prop CT-157 Siskin II. Talk

about flying backwards! The propeller head politicians have outdone themselves. All other national air display flying teams use jets but not Canada. We bring up the rear. If it goes around and around and generates hot air, it must be PM (Propeller Man) Carney. Why not go all the way back to a fleet of the Red Baron’s First World War Fokker triplane for the Snowbirds? 1. I read “PM residence delayed” and immediately thought the money got stuck somewhere dumb. Like why renovate anything when they can’t even run the Snowbirds schedule.

  2. The letter says CT-114 vs CT-157 and honestly I don’t even know what either one is. But propeller jets?? That’s literally flying backwards right there, like the government chose the slowest option on purpose. Also “Propeller Man Carney” sounds petty but kinda makes sense? Idk.

  3. They talk about delaying replacement planes “sometime in the far future” and I’m like cool, so we just wait? Meanwhile the PM residence renovation is delayed too, shocking. Next thing you know they’ll use a WWI triplane like the letter said and everyone pretends it’s progress.
