Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is cancer-free.
The “Jersey Shore” star has no evidence of the disease seven months after announcing she was diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer, she told People in an interview published Sept. 18.
“It’s been a journey and a long road, but I’m happy that I’m on the other side of it and everything is going good,” she told the outlet.
In January, Polizzi revealed in a TikTok video that doctors found cancerous cells on the top of her cervix after conducting a colposcopy and biopsy. The next month, the 38-year-old revealed on TikTok that doctors detected adenocarcinoma, a type of cancer, in her cervix after a pap smear exam.
She underwent a hysterectomy in July. The procedure removes a person’s uterus and can be used to treat a variety of conditions including cancer, according to Cleveland Clinic.
“They got everything out. So I’m definitely happy that I did it,” she told People.
Snooki says she still has to ‘take it easy’ months after hysterectomy
In a TikTok video posted Sept. 11, Polizzi gave fans an update on her recovery process after undergoing her hysterectomy.
“I still have to take it easy,” she said. “I have to remind myself like it takes a couple months to really, really recover. And even though I feel OK, like don’t go over the top.”
The reality star also said she has continued her active lifestyle as mom to Lorenzo, 14, Giovanna, 11, and Angelo, 7.
“I’m trying to make the best of life,” she said. “And you know, I have three kids running around with school, cheer practice, football, wrestling.”
