Snooki planned her own funeral after cancer scare

Snooki planned – Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi revealed she went into “a breakdown” after learning she had stage 1 cervical cancer—at one point planning her own funeral. The Jersey Shore star later found steadier ground through research and the women she encountered on TikTok.

When Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi first heard the word “cancer,” she didn’t just feel scared—she spiraled.

On Tuesday’s episode of Let’s Be Honest. the Jersey Shore star recalled that after being told she had stage 1 cervical cancer. she had “a breakdown.” Her mind immediately raced to the end of things. and she started talking to herself about practical steps that felt far too heavy for the moment. “Like, ‘Oh, my God, what am I gonna do?. Gotta get my will in place. What’s gonna happen?’ Planning my funeral. I was being so dramatic,” she said.

That panic didn’t last forever. Polizzi described a turning point when she “did research.” Even though she said the diagnosis and next steps were still “terrifying. ” she learned something that changed how she processed the prognosis: cervical cancer is “so common for women.” She also pointed to the lack of conversation around it. “No one really talks about it. I’m gonna be OK, because there’s things I have to do. I’ll be fine, because stage one is the best-case scenario,” she said.

Her treatment plan now includes a hysterectomy. She doesn’t have a date set yet, but she said she’s expecting the surgery sometime in the summer. Polizzi described how unsettling it is to hear cancer and then immediately think about what it will do to your life—and your body. “It’s scary when you hear the word cancer. You’re like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m dying. I have to do all these things, and my body’s gonna change,’” she said.

The biggest comfort, she added, came from other people. While she initially didn’t expect to share her diagnosis publicly—telling only “close family”—she realized she needed someone relatable. “I needed someone to be relatable and talk about their experience,” she said. She turned to TikTok. where she found women documenting what it looked like to get the same kind of diagnosis and what steps followed.

Polizzi said she came across videos of women “saying. ‘I just got diagnosed with stage 1 this is what I have to do.’” She also saw posts about hysterectomies. including accounts that made the procedure feel less frightening than she’d imagined. “Other TikToks saying how they got a hysterectomy and it wasn’t that bad,” she said.

Once she found that support, she decided to offer it back. “Having benefited from others. she decided to go public as well. ” the star explained. saying she ended up sharing because nobody talks about cervical cancer—even though it’s so common. “I didn’t think I was going to tell anyone, just my close family, and that’s it. … I literally looked for these women to make me feel better. So, why not talk about it?. Because nobody talks about it, and it’s so common,” she said.

Polizzi also shared that she went public as she did in February. Now. with her hysterectomy expected in the summer and her treatment still “terrifying” at the start. she says the difference is that she no longer has to face the fear alone—because someone else already walked that road and left a trail behind them.
