Slipknot Guitarist Jim Root Shares Cryptic Message Following Reports Sid Wilson Was Kicked Out of Band

Jim Root is speaking out amid reports his bandmate Sid Wilson was kicked out of Slipknot.

If you didn’t see the news, it was reported on Friday night (July 31) that Sid had permanently removed from Slipknot earlier that day, ending his 28-year run with the nu metal group.

Hours after the news made headlines, Jim took to his Instagram Story to share a cryptic message, seemingly addressing the drama.

“Don’t believe everything you read,” the guitarist wrote. “Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile (sic). Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.”

Jim set his message to Slipknot‘s 2008 song “‘Til We Die.”

As of right now, Sid has not addressed reports that he’s been kicked out of the band.

Sid was one of the nine original members of Slipknot. He’d been with the band since 1999 and is among the latest of the original members to leave following Chris Frehn and Craig Jones. Sadly, Joey Jordison passed away in 2021 and Paul Gray died in 2010.

Jim remains one of the OG members still with the group along with Shawn “Clown” Crahan, Mick Thomson, and Corey Taylor.

Reports of Sid‘s firing from Slipknot comes months after his split from Kelly Osbourne.
