Sling’s National Streaming Day deals: Premium Pass free

Sling National – With National Streaming Day landing on May 20, Sling is rolling out limited-time savings on its Premium Pass and Total TV add-on, plus new 1-Day, 3-Day, and 7-Day pass options for short-term streaming.

Memorial Day weekend is almost here, school is almost out, and for a lot of people that means the same shift: less schedule, more couch time. National Streaming Day is coming in right on cue—celebrated annually on May 20, and this year falling on Wednesday, May 20.

Sling is leaning into the moment with limited-time offers on two popular add-ons: its Premium Pass and Total TV. The promise is simple—more channels and premium content, for less money, at least for a short window.

The biggest headline: Sling Premium Pass free for a month

Sling is offering Premium Pass free for a month, with savings of up to $35.98 per month. During that first month, subscribers get access to Paramount+ with Showtime, AMC+, Starz, and MGM+.

Premium Pass as an add-on isn’t universal—it requires either a monthly base TV plan (Sling Orange or Sling Blue) or Sling Pass.

It’s also positioned for people who want “latest top shows and movies” without paying during that first month.

Total TV add-on drops by 60%

Sling is also running a separate limited-time deal: 60% off its Total TV add-on.

Total TV is built as a bundle of extra packages that adds 68 additional channels. Those extra channels are described as covering sports, entertainment, news, and kids.

To get Total TV, viewers need either a Sling Orange or Sling Blue subscription to enjoy the extra channels from Total TV.

Orange versus Blue: how the channel lineup changes

Sling lays out a clear split between its packages.

Sling Orange includes over 30 channels, including ESPN, Disney Channel, CNN, and HGTV. The plan is described as a popular pick for families and sports fans, with live game coverage and kid-friendly content. Sling Orange also allows streaming on one device.

Sling Blue includes 40+ channels, including NFL Network, Bravo, CNN, FOX News, and more. With Sling Blue, viewers can stream on up to three devices simultaneously.

Sling Orange + Blue combines both, offering 50+ live channels, including ESPN, NFL Network, USA, TNT, Bravo, FOX News, CNN, and more. That bundle supports streaming on up to four devices at a time.

Short-term watching: Sling 1-Day, 3-Day, or 7-Day Pass

Sling is also pitching a different kind of savings for people who don’t want a long subscription right now. The live TV streaming service says it’s offering Sling 1-Day Pass, 3-Day Pass, and 7-Day Pass options.

In each case, Sling says you get access to the Sling Orange package.

Pricing is set as follows: the 1-Day Pass costs $4.99 to start for instant 24-hour access; the 3-Day Pass is $9.99 to start for access from Friday to Sunday; and the 7-Day Pass is $14.99 to start for seven-day access. The pricing is described as not including add-ons.

Add-ons for a Sling Pass: small add-ons, big coverage

If someone adds an eligible add-on to a Sling Pass, Sling lists a tiered price.

For a Sling 1-Day Pass, add-ons cost $1 extra. For a Sling 3-Day Pass, add-ons cost $2 extra, and for a Sling 7-Day Pass, add-ons cost $3 extra. Sling frames these add-ons as a way to target specific moments—like a college football game or news coverage for a big event.

The add-ons available for a Sling Pass include:

Sports Extra, which includes more in-depth sports channels like MLB Network, NBA TV, and NHL Network, plus more access to the ESPN-suite with channels such as ESPNU and ESPNews.

Entertainment/Hollywood Extra, which is described as the option for more TV and movie content, with access to Grit, H&I, Reelz, StartTV, HDNet Movies, Sundance TV, TCM, and Bounce.

Heartland Extra, aimed at people who enjoy the outdoors. Sling says it includes the World Fishing Network, Sportsman Channel, Outdoor Channel, and more, along with channels like Great American Family, Cowboy Channel, and Cowgirl channel.

News Extra, designed to keep viewers up to date. Sling says it provides News Nation, Newsmax, HLN, Science Channel, and more on top of the channels in the basic package.

Sling’s National Streaming Day pitch is built around timing—May 20, midweek, right before the long stretch of summer leisure begins. Premium Pass free for a month and 60% off Total TV are aimed at people who want immediate upgrades to what they already watch.

For those who only want coverage for a specific weekend or week, the 1-Day, 3-Day, and 7-Day Pass options give viewers a lower-cost entry point, with add-ons priced to match the length of the pass.
