Sky Star Natasha Cloud Takes A Bold Stand For Trans People After Enes Kanter Incident

Following former NBA star and prospective WNBA player Enes Kanter’s controversial appearance and subsequent removal from the Chicago Sky-Indiana Fever game, star player Natasha Cloud has made her stance on trans people loud and clear.

She took to Threads to voice her support for the trans community, promising that they will “always be protected by me.” The post came after the Fever-Sky game concluded.

“To every trans kid/person, You are [a part] of MY community & tribe. You belong. You’re loved. You’re seen. You’re perfect as you are. & you will always be protected by me,” she wrote.

While Kanter made headlines, Caitlin Clark showed out in the game against the Sky, helping the Fever win by 23 points. She scored 36 points and had 10 assists. Kelsey Mitchell also scored 30 points.

Cloud, meanwhile, led her team with 16 points, making seven of her nine shot attempts. The Sky lost, but Cloud was still a standout. She is in the midst of her first season with the Sky. Previously, Cloud played for the Washington Mystics, the Phoenix Mercury, and the New York Liberty.

Enes Kanter’s controversial appearance at Sky-Fever game

Over the last few weeks, Kanter has made headlines by making a mockery of transgender identities and their alleged invasion of space in women’s sports. His theatrics have included declaring for the 2027 WNBA Draft and identifying as a woman.

He showed up to Wintrust Arena to watch the game between the Fever and the Sky. His shirt shared the definition of “woman,” which further caused a stir.

Eventually, he got into a verbal exchange with Cloud, leading to his ejection from the venue. It remains to be seen if his antics will stop there.

Kanter previously had an 11-year career in the NBA, playing for the likes of the Utah Jazz, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the New York Knicks, the Portland Trail Blazers, and the Boston Celtics. However, he is now aiming to play in the WNBA to make a point.
