Six new songs land Monday, June 29, 2026

Six new – From Whitmer Thomas’s ‘Candy Corn’ to Angela Autumn’s ‘Mountain Stream,’ six fresh releases arrive Monday, June 29, 2026—spanning comedy-meets-music, indie darkness, techno minimalism, parenthood love songs, power-pop reinvention, and Appalachian healing.
On a day when it’s easy to drown in new releases. six tracks still cut through—each one arriving with its own world. Monday. June 29. 2026 brings Whitmer Thomas’s Candy Corn. Sadurn’s whole thing. LA Priest’s Ever No. The Big Moon’s Gravity. Hurry’s The Dumbest Person You’ve Ever Seen. and Angela Autumn’s Mountain Stream.
Whitmer Thomas kicks things off with ‘Candy Corn’—a new song released alongside news that comedian. actor. and musician Whitmer Thomas has signed to Fire Talk Records. The track was produced in North Carolina with Brad Cook. and it’s paired with a video featuring appearances from Thomas’ longtime friends Joe Pera and Carmen Christopher. In remarks about the writing. Thomas said. “This is my broadest attempt to write about what youth felt like. looking back as an aging knucklehead.”.
Sadurn then set the tone darker with ‘whole thing. ’ announcing their second album. The Underworld. and unveiling the poignant track as the first taste. In the chorus. G DeGroot sings. “The whole thing gets wrapped up with a string/ Tied to a stone and dropped in/ Sink your soft flare in my veins/ Slow hawk in a circle. cursed but/ You say the word. only thing I need again.”.
LA Priest follows with ‘Ever No. ’ tied to Sam Eastgate’s reunion with his friend Alex Ridha. aka Boys Noize. for the just-announced album Into the Sky. The lead single ‘Ever No’ is described as gently pulsating. and Eastgate explained why the album is built around limited tools: “I’ve always liked the homemade feel of very early techno. that’s why all the songs have the same drum machine and the same synth. ” he said. “How much ground can you cover with just a few sounds?. How many different kinds of emotions can you show with one or two machines?. That’s what I find exciting.”.
For The Big Moon, ‘Gravity’ comes with the momentum of a band heading into a new era. The group have announced their fourth LP. Forever. arriving October 30 via Fiction. and ‘Gravity’ is the catchy. propulsive lead single out today. Songwriter Juliette Jackson recalled the moment that shaped it: “At the time I wrote this song. every time I collected my son from nursery he would run and slam into me and give me the biggest hug. ” she said. “I knew it wouldn’t last forever, and I savoured everyone, and this song ended up commemorating that feeling. It’s about a love that you’re never really separated from, just elasticated, ready to snap back together.”.
Hurry add a different kind of charge with ‘The Dumbest Person You’ve Ever Seen. ’ previewing their forthcoming album. Zoned Out. The single is described as earnestly endearing, and bandleader Matt Scottoline framed it as a break from routine. “Time moves quickly, and it’s easy to find yourself following the same well-worn path,” he reflected. “You walk the same blocks every day, go to the same coffee shop, see the same people. Eventually the city starts to fade into the background. ‘The Dumbest Person You’ve Ever Seen’ is about meeting someone who suddenly pulls you out of that routine. I guess the title isn’t totally about stupidity – it’s more about the moment when someone makes you forget how to be the composed version of yourself.”.
Angela Autumn closes the roundup with ‘Mountain Stream. ’ a lead single from her announced sophomore LP. Believer. due September 11 on Gar Hole Records. Appalachian-born and Nashville-based, Autumn also released ‘Mountain Stream’ with a video directed by Ash Wright. She described the song as a slack-tuned anthem about escaping something. saying: “It came to me one night when I was on a medicine journey and felt very otherworldly. I began singing words that did
not feel like my own. But I think I was unearthing something deep inside of me.” Autumn added that the mountain is a powerful image to her in healing: “It represents new heights and accomplishments. something monumental that is not easily perceived by the senses. but is felt internally.” For the video. she said she wanted to show feminine power through dance—collaborating with a few dancers and musicians. and building choreography herself. She also explained
the recording process: “The song was entirely tracked live. minus the banjo and the loud primal hollers me and Isaiah added. I love that he had the faith in me to record it and it turned out to be the last song of six we tracked during our studio day. It had rained all day, so we really got to drop in and turn it up.”.
The day’s releases don’t just share a calendar—they move in different emotional directions. from nostalgia and longing to routine-breaking and healing. all landing within the same week of writing and announcement. If you’re keeping track the way most people do—partly by instinct. partly by curiosity—this is the kind of Monday where choosing just one track won’t be enough.

Six songs in one day?? my algorithm is gonna overload. also whos Whitmer Thomas and why does he sound like a candy brand lol
So is this like a streaming thing where they drop all the singles at midnight? I didn’t even read it, just saw “Candy Corn” and assumed it was a Halloween cash grab. Fire Talk Records though, sounds legit I guess.
Wait… LA Priest’s “Ever No” is tied to Sam Eastgate reuniting with Alex Ridha? I thought Boys Noize was a DJ duo or something. This article is kinda all over the place but Gravity by The Big Moon in the same list?? I’m confused but excited?
Im not saying these aren’t good but why are they burying the lede like it’s “comedy-meets-music” and “Appalachian healing” like that’s a real genre lol. Also Hunger? Hurry? The Dumbest Person You’ve Ever Seen… that title sounds political or something but maybe it’s just dumb. Anyway I’ll probably just search one song and forget the rest.
