Sigourney Weaver Leaves Exclamation Point in TCL Cement

Sigourney Weaver was honored Friday at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre with a plaque featuring her handprint and footprint, alongside James Cameron and Pedro Pascal.

Sigourney Weaver walked onto the famous forecourt at Los Angeles’ TCL Chinese Theatre on Friday (May 15) and, with a practiced touch, left a lasting mark of her own.

The 76-year-old actress received one of Hollywood’s biggest tributes: a plaque with her handprint and footprint pressed into the cement.. She was joined at the ceremony by her Avatar and Alien director James Cameron. as well as her Mandalorian and Grogu co-star Pedro Pascal. and she even added an exclamation point after her name in the cement.

The timing made the moment feel like a homecoming. The ceremony arrived just one night after the world premiere screening of The Mandalorian and Grogu, which took place at the same exact location. Weaver and the rest of the team were back hours later.

Those celebrations come as The Mandalorian prepares for its next chapter.. After three seasons of TV on Disney+, the series is heading to the big screen.. With “the evil Empire” fallen and Imperial warlords still scattered across the galaxy. the fledgling New Republic enlists Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his young apprentice Grogu.

The Chinese Theatre itself carries deep history in cement.. Handprint ceremonies at the venue, originally called Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, began in 1927.. And while the Hollywood Walk of Fame is packed with stars, there are far fewer handprints at this particular site.. Since 2020, there have been only 24 other ceremonies, with a year-long break during the pandemic.

Weaver’s honor also lands close to the most recent previous one: Glenn Close received a ceremony just two weeks ago, adding her dog’s pawprint to her own mark in the cement.

  1. I didn’t realize they still do the handprint thing at TCL. The exclamation point is kinda extra but honestly good for her.

  2. Wait Glenn Close got a dog pawprint like two weeks ago and now Sigourney is doing handprints? Isn’t that the same cement they use for the movie premiere footprints? Kinda confusing. Also how does Grogu even fit into that whole thing

  3. This is cool but I swear I saw something online saying it was “Hollywood Walk of Fame” not TCL Chinese Theatre, so idk. Also if Mandalorian is going to big screen, do they do premieres on the same cement like they’re training the actors or something? People keep saying homecoming but she’s literally from NYC so I’m like… homecoming to what? Anyway exclamation point in cement sounds fake but I guess it’s real.
