Shuswap Climate Action Society is hosting a community climate conversation on Tuesday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Pine Room at First Community, located at 450 Okanagan St. SE in Salmon Arm. SCAS said the event will depart from traditional

Attendees will be able to engage directly with the SCAS board of directors. “Your voice matters in shaping our climate action plans,” said the SCAS Board of Directors in a statement. “We want to have a genuine and transparent discussion with our community. This event is a chance for us to share our current initiatives, but more importantly, to listen to what our community wants to see us achieve moving forward. Tackling this threat is doable – we
just need the will to do it. ” Everyone is welcome to attend the event with no prior registration required.

So what time is it again? 6:30? I’ll swing by if I’m not stuck at work.
“Climate chaos” sounds dramatic like it’s gonna be a doom talk. Are they actually doing anything or just collecting opinions? I’m not against the idea, just hate being preached at.
Wait, is this the group that already decided everything and the “open dialogue” is just for show? Like I’ve been to meetings where you can talk but nothing changes. Also Pine Room at First Community… is that in Salmon Arm or somewhere else? The address makes me think yes but people say different stuff.
I don’t get why they need a whole event just to tell people “tackle climate.” If everyone would just stop buying stuff it would fix itself… I mean, maybe I’m oversimplifying. But still, “transparent discussion” doesn’t mean much if they don’t say what plans they already have. Anyone know if they’re talking about taxes too?
