Showrunner Amy B Harris maps five seasons for Every Year After

With Prime Video’s Every Year After landing this Wednesday, showrunner Amy B Harris says she’s already looking ahead to a five-season run—even without a renewal in place. She points to a connected next book, One Golden Summer, and to the show’s main cast and r
Every Year After is almost here. Prime Video’s new romance series is set to premiere THIS Wednesday (June 10), and the showrunner is already thinking past opening weekend.
Prime Video has not renewed the upcoming series, based off the novel “Every Summer After” by Carley Fortune. But series co-creator and showrunner Amy B Harris says she has a clear vision for where the story can go next.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly ahead of the premiere, Harris said she sees the show running for five seasons. She also pointed to a connected book that could shape what comes after the first batch of episodes.
“Obviously, there’s another book that’s connected to Barry’s Bay that I think will be a very exciting blueprint for us for a potential season 2.”
That other book is “One Golden Summer,” a companion book to Carley Fortune’s “Every Summer After.” It centers on Sam’s brother Charlie as he finds love.
Harris also made it clear the plans aren’t only about adapting what’s on the page. She described Every Year After as a romance series built to grow over time—starting with its current chemistry and widening as the seasons progress.
“We have these six main characters, and I think we’ll be adding characters as the seasons go on. I really see this as a series. and it’s why we built it the way we did so that we can come back and explore a lot more romance. ” she said. “We have lots more to say both about Percy and Sam’s love story. but also about these other characters who hopefully people will come to love as much as they do Percy and Sam.”.
If Every Year After does get a second season, it would also fit a familiar pattern seen with other recent book-to-screen adaptations. Off Campus and Heated Rivalry both centered on one book for their first seasons and then shifted to a different book for their second seasons.
For now, the countdown is simple: Every Year After premieres on Prime Video THIS Wednesday (June 10). The trailer is available to watch online.

So they’re just assuming season 2? Prime Video loves canceling stuff lol.
I saw something about “One Golden Summer” and thought it was the whole show like the main book. Either way, give me more Percy and Sam chemistry, that part better not get ruined.
Wait, isn’t this the one with Barry’s Bay? Like I swear Barry’s Bay is a real place and I saw a TikTok about it. If Sam’s brother Charlie finds love then why are they calling it Every Year After… should’ve been Every Summer After or whatever.
Five seasons planned already with no renewal is wild. Also Off Campus and Heated Rivalry shifting books for season 2?? Sounds like they’re making it up as they go, but I guess romance shows always do that. Premiere June 10 on Prime so I’ll probably binge and then be mad when it ends on a cliffhanger.
