Shooting in Stade kills at least five, police say

Several people were killed in a shooting in the northern German city of Stade on Monday, police said on Monday. As of around 2 pm the German Press Agency (DPA) has reported that five had died and that a suspect had been arrested, citing a police spokesperson. “It was shot near a youth facility in the city center,” the spokesman told DPA on Monday. outlet NDR said that a police operation was taking place on Dankersstraße. “Avoid the area as far as possible!”, posted the Lüneburg police department at X. A report by Bild said that two police helicopters were in the air over the city centre and that the situation was “dynamic”. Stade is part of the Hamburg metropolitan region and is also known as the western gateway to the Altes Land, the largest contiguous fruit-growing area in Germany. Hamburg. It’s home to 50,000 residents. It is not yet known if children or adolescents are among the victims of the shooting.
