Officers found two people dead at the scene. while three others were taken to medical care with injuries described as stable.
The suspect was apprehended nearby after a brief foot pursuit, according to Misryoum. Authorities said the response involved officers working multiple areas around the plaza and an adjacent shopping district locally referred to as Koreatown.
