Shawn Mendes confirms romance with Bruna Marquezine in heartfelt birthday tribute
Shawn Mendes has officially confirmed his romance with Bruna Marquezine after months of speculation.
He chose her birthday to make their relationship Instagram official, with a heartfelt post celebrating the model’s 31st birthday on Tuesday, August 4.
“Feliz aniversário my baby,” he wrote. “You are a light and a mãe in every room you walk into. Not to be tooooo sappy but you’ve truly changed my life and I am so so grateful for you.”
At the end, he added a message in Portuguese, “Eu te amo muito muito muitoo,” which translates to, “I love you so, so, so much.” He closed the touching caption with, “We all do amor.”
Mendes shared his feelings alongside a series of intimate photos and videos, offering a glimpse of the couple’s private life.
Several videos showed Marquezine during a visit to Casa Amarela Providência in Rio de Janeiro, where children enthusiastically ran to greet and hug her.
Another clip featured her singing and dancing along as the children seemed to chant “Happy Birthday.” The carousel concluded with a portrait of Marquezine posing with her dog.
Mendes shared another sweet photo of the couple on Instagram Stories, posing together at Casa Amarela Providência.
Dating rumors first surfaced in November 2025 after the pair attended Dua Lipa’s concert together in São Paulo, according to Pop Tales.
They were later spotted together at movie theaters, restaurants, airports and on beach outings around Brazil. In January, the pair were photographed kissing in the ocean, further fueling speculation.
While neither had publicly confirmed the relationship until now, their frequent public appearances had already convinced many fans they were dating.
Marquezine was previously in a high-profile on-and-off relationship with Brazilian soccer star Neymar Jr., which ended in 2018. She had largely kept her dating life out of the spotlight until she was linked to Mendes.
Before finding love with Marquezine, Mendes had a high-profile romance with singer Camila Cabello. They dated on and off from 2019 to 2023, split in 2021 and were briefly together in 2023 before calling it quits.
He was also briefly linked to Sabrina Carpenter in 2023 and previously dated Hailey Bieber before her marriage to Justin Bieber.
