Shakira and Burna Boy Release “Dai Dai” World Cup 2026 Anthem

Shakira and Burna Boy have released “Dai Dai” as the official song for the 2026 World Cup, tied to the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund’s goal of raising $100 million for children’s education and sports.
Shakira and Burna Boy just turned up the volume on the run-up to the 2026 World Cup, releasing their new track “Dai Dai” as the tournament’s official song.
The collaboration doubles as a spotlight for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which is designed to raise $100 million by the end of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The money is meant to give children around the world access to quality education and sports.
For Shakira, this release comes at a major moment: she’s co-headlining the World Cup Final halftime show on Sunday, July 19, alongside Madonna and BTS. It’s also being billed as the first time there’s a halftime show at the World Cup.
Burna Boy spoke about the crossover between sport and sound in a statement.. “The World Cup is one of the few things the entire world experiences together.. Football and music speak the same language.. They bring people together no matter where you’re from and being part of this moment through music means a lot to me.”
“Dai Dai” is mostly in English, but it opens with a blend of foreign-language phrases that nod to fans across the globe: “Dai, dai, ikou, dale, allez, let’s go.”
Here’s how the lines translate: “Dai, dai” is Italian for “come on, come on”; “Ikou” is Japanese for “let’s go”; “Dale” is Spanish for “go ahead”; “Allez” is French for “go”; and “Let’s go” is English.
Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” is now out, ready to soundtrack a World Cup built for shared moments, whether you’re watching for the goals or the music.

So they’re putting Shakira in charge of the World Cup now? Wild.
I thought the halftime show already happened? Like every other big soccer thing? Either way “Dai Dai” sounds catchy.
Not gonna lie, I’m confused about the “first time there’s a halftime show” part… wasn’t there something like that years ago? Also $100 million for kids education and sports sounds nice but FIFA always acts like they’ll change everything then it’s still FIFA lol.
“Dai, dai, ikou, dale, allez” like okay I’m just gonna sing it even if I don’t know what half of it means. They said it’s mostly in English but the start is foreign languages so that’s still like… not English? Anyway Madonna + BTS + Shakira is literally too much for one halftime show.
