Seth Meyers Mocks Trump’s AG pick as “fun” misfire

Seth Meyers didn’t have to wait long to make Tuesday night’s news feel personal.
On his monologue, the NBC host reacted to President Trump’s move to nominate acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to take over the role full time this week. Blanche previously served as Trump’s personal defense lawyer, and Meyers treated the appointment like a punchline with teeth.
“Oh, come on, if you’re going to let him get away with installing one of his personal lawyers as AG, at least make it the fun one!” Meyers said.

Then the bit landed with a familiar face. An image of former New York mayor and former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani appeared on screen. Meyers pointed out that it wasn’t the usual “Late Night” photo with Giuliani’s eyes bugging out. but the former lawyer still looked surprised—and Meyers leaned into the moment for laughs.
“It’s like they told him right before the photo was taken that it was for this,” Meyers joked, before slipping into his Giuliani impression.
“‘Yeah, you could take my picture, what’s it for? Seth Meyers?!’” Meyers said, matching the same expression.
Meyers didn’t stop there. He also mocked Trump for touting that he should be a stock broker after the U.S. took a 10% stake in Intel.
“Then go be one! There are so many other jobs you clearly prefer!” Meyers bellowed.
“I’ve never seen you more happy than that,” he added, as a photo of Trump’s publicity stunt as a McDonald’s employee appeared.

lol Seth roasting him again. Guess Todd Blanche wasn’t ‘fun’ enough.
Wait so AG is like a permanent lawyer now? I’m confused… I thought AG picks were always “acting” for a while. Also Giuliani just looks weird in every pic so I get it?
Rudy always looks surprised like he’s about to get called as a witness or something. But isn’t Todd Blanche the guy that like… handled some court stuff for Trump? So Seth’s mad he’s connected, not the actual job? Either way it’s pretty funny.
Meyers comparing it to a ‘fun’ lawyer feels childish. Like ok, Trump’s AG pick is messy but the McDonald’s employee Intel thing?? Didn’t Intel already do the stock broker thing years ago? Seems like he’s mixing stories. Still though, the Rudy impression was probably spot on. I mean that guy has permanent confused face.
