Seiko ties Fullmetal Alchemist to a new chronograph

Seiko’s Fullmetal – Seiko’s latest collaboration watch pulls in Fullmetal Alchemist fans with a black dial of alchemy symbols, automail-inspired indices, and a back-of-case engraving—plus a limited Japanese release via AMNIBUS priced at ¥65,780.
When a watch looks like it’s been pulled straight out of an anime’s world, you notice it in seconds—then you keep staring to catch what you missed. Seiko’s newest collaboration is doing exactly that for Fullmetal Alchemist fans, with details packed into the face, the case, and even the packaging.
The watch’s black dial is built around recognizable nods to protagonist Edward Elric. The signature red alchemic transmutation circle appears on the dial. echoing the series’ idea of a conduit for energy and power. In the bottom right. the brothers’ mystical “Flaming Cross” emblem sits as a quiet signature for anyone who knows where to look.
Even the time display borrows from Edward’s automail. The hour marker indices are inspired by the screws in his right aim. and the small second sub-dial includes the Amestris military emblem with a line-drawn dragon. At 12. 3. 6. and 9 o’clock. and across the hour and minute hands. luminous green accents are used to glow in the dark—keeping the anime references practical. not just decorative.
The tribute doesn’t stop at the dial. “Don’t forget 3. OCT. 11.” is engraved into the casebook, pointing to the phrase on the back of Edward’s pocket watch from the series. The overall packaging continues the same thread of character symbolism: crimson wrapping paper and a box that recall Edward’s signature cloak. The display box itself is designed to showcase the watch while printing another famous line from the franchise on it: “Stand up and walk. You have two perfectly good legs, don’t you?”.
From a technology standpoint, Seiko hasn’t revealed much. What is known is that this is a chronograph watch with a 12-hour counter and a tachymeter bezel. The same phrase seen on the box inside is also mentioned as part of the presentation.
As of now, the watch has only been announced for Japanese release through the anime e-commerce platform AMNIBUS. The price is ¥65,780—about $410—and it’s still unclear whether it will receive a broader global release.

So it’s basically a Seiko that tells time and also has anime symbols? Kinda cool but I’m not paying $410 for a dial that looks like a poster.
Wait I thought Fullmetal Alchemist already had a watch collab? Like didn’t they do this with automail years ago? Also the “stand up and walk” thing on the box… that seems like they’re selling merch not a real chronograph.
The article says green lume accents and tachymeter bezel, but it doesn’t say if it’s actually waterproof lol. I’m guessing it’s just fashion chrono cosplay and not something you can wear outside.
AMNIBUS exclusive? Of course. ¥65,780 is like… way more than a regular Seiko right? I saw someone online say it’s limited but then also that Seiko will probably release it everywhere, so which is it. Also the engraving “3. OCT. 11.” sounds like a date but I’m like… what event is that again?
