Scott Jennings Has Meltdown After Co-Host Calls Him Out On ‘Fake’ Natalie Harp Outrage

CNN contributor Scott Jennings got a bit into his feelings on Tuesday after fellow panelist Ashley Etienne called out his “fake” outrage over comments made by Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) about White House aide Natalie Harp.

“See, he doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the amir of Qatar,” Ossoff said at a rally in Atlanta on Sunday.

Jennings condemned Ossoff’s comments while claiming he was dragging Harp “through the mud.”

“Now, the party of women likes to tell us that, you know, we’re here for women’s rights and we’re going to promote women. And then you’ve got one of their leading candidates for president out dragging an unknown woman who’s gone off to serve her government through the mud, insinuating that the only possible reason she could have a job in politics is because she’s a concubine for a politician. It’s disgusting,” Jennings said on CNN’s “Laura Coates Live.”

Etienne wasn’t having any of it and quickly confronted Jennings, who has never called out President Donald Trump for his long history of disparaging and sexist comments about women.

“I mean, I just, all this sort of fake outrage just really infuriates me,” Etienne said.

“It’s not fake, I can assure you,” Jennings said, interrupting her.

“Yes, it is,” Etienne said.

“You don’t put words in my mouth; it’s not fake,” Jennings said.

Etienne then accused Jennings of putting words in Ossoff’s mouth when he inferred the senator’s comments to mean Harp only has the job because of a close relationship with Trump.

“I am REALLY outraged,” Jennings said.

Host Laura Coates jumped in to silence Jennings and let Etienne finish her thought.

“Ossoff never suggested that Republican women only get jobs if they’re sleeping with their principal. He never suggested anything to that degree. What he said was that they seemed to be together quite often, which is a statement of fact. The real reality is the reason why you guys are taking this stuff so personally is because you believe there’s probably some level of truth to it, especially given the principal we’re talking about here,” Etienne said.
