Netflix announced on Sunday (September 13) that Scooby-Doo: Origins has officially wrapped production ahead of its global premiere on the streaming service in 2027.

Who Is Playing the Scooby-Doo: Origins Characters?

The upcoming live-action series stars Mckenna Grace as Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones.

The cast also includes Paul Walter Hauser, Rusty Schwimmer, Peter Macon, Maxwell Simkins, Jona Xiao, Dani Deetté, Elysée Sanvillé, Alex Isles, Avery Kristen Pohl, Pamela Mitchell, Ross Kimball, Sara Gilbert, Wynn Everett, Sauriyan Sapkota, Bruce McGill, André Benjamin (Andre 3000) and Cathy Moriarty.

What Is Scooby-Doo: Origins About?

The series is described as a modern reimagining of the Mystery Inc. gang, following longtime friends Shaggy and Daphne during their final summer at camp. They become involved in a mystery surrounding a lost Great Dane puppy who may have witnessed a supernatural murder, eventually teaming up with Velma and Freddy to investigate.

The series will also make some franchise history: Scooby-Doo will be portrayed by a real Great Dane for the first time in the franchise’s more than 50-year history.

Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg serve as writers, showrunners and executive producers.
