Scheduled Power Interruptions Set for Metro Manila, Rizal, and Laguna

Residents in parts of Metro Manila, Rizal, and Laguna should prepare for upcoming power outages due to essential line maintenance scheduled this week.

Residents across parts of Metro Manila, Rizal, and Laguna are being urged to prepare for scheduled power interruptions this week as essential grid maintenance gets underway.

Misryoum reports that these service disruptions are necessary to facilitate ongoing line reconstruction, reconductoring, and equipment upgrades intended to improve local electricity reliability.

These planned outages highlight the delicate nature of urban infrastructure, where routine maintenance is a constant requirement to prevent long-term system failure and ensure grid stability for thousands of households.

In Valenzuela City, specific areas of Brgy.. Ugong will face a power cut on May 4 from 10 a.m.. to 3 p.m.. to accommodate reconstruction along Mindanao Avenue.. Makati City follows on May 5, with parts of Brgy.. San Lorenzo experiencing a shutdown between 12:01 a.m.. and 5 a.m.. due to work in Legaspi Village.

Manila and Caloocan will also see activity, with Sampaloc and Punta, Sta.. Ana facing varied windows of outages on May 6 and 10.. Meanwhile, Caloocan’s Grace Park will undergo pole replacements from May 6 to 7 during the late-night hours.. Taguig residents in several barangays, including Katuparan and North Signal, should anticipate a series of brief service breaks between May 6 and 8 to support intensive reconstruction efforts.

Rizal and Laguna are not exempt from these upgrades.. In Rodriguez, Rizal, parts of Eastwind Homes and Eastwood Greenview will be offline early on May 6, while Teresa will see maintenance on May 8.. Laguna’s Luisiana and Majayjay regions will have their power suspended on May 8, and industrial facilities in Calamba, specifically within Carmelray Industrial Park 1, face a midday interruption on May 9.

These disruptions are a standard, albeit inconvenient, part of utility management designed to modernize the power grid and reduce the likelihood of unpredictable blackouts in the future.
