Savannah Guthrie Marks Five Months, Pleads: Bring Her Home

Savannah Guthrie says the past five months since her mother, Nancy Guthrie, was kidnapped have been “agony” and “unending trauma,” and she urged Tucson and law enforcement to keep helping bring her home. July 1 marked five months since Nancy was abducted from
July 1 was supposed to be just another day for Tucson families. Instead, it marked five months since Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, was kidnapped from her Tucson, Arizona home.
For Savannah, the time hasn’t dulled anything. On Wednesday, the Today show host told KOLD 13 News, “It is five months of agony and unending trauma for our family. There is not a moment that goes by that we aren’t actively trying to find our mom.”
She kept returning to the same truth: the search is constant, not occasional. “We thank the people of Tucson for holding her in their hearts, as well as both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department for their tireless work on behalf of our family. Bring her home.”
The plea lands with even more weight because the investigation has continued to carry uncertainty—especially around ransom notes. Multiple outlets received ransom notes after Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. Initially, the FBI said the notes were not legitimate, but it later changed its stance.
On Wednesday. the FBI Phoenix shared a statement spelling out how those notes are being treated: “The FBI and its task force partners have received several ransom notes over the course of this investigation. Some have been deemed to be extortion attempts without legitimacy. Other ransom demands may potentially be legitimate and are still being investigated as such. This case continues to be investigated as a kidnapping for ransom case. The FBI has and will continue to offer all assistance possible in the investigation — however local authorities remain the lead.”.
Savannah’s message to Tucson and to investigators comes as the case stays open. with the FBI stressing it will keep offering assistance while local authorities remain in the lead. For her family. the only thing that matters right now is bringing Nancy Guthrie home—and continuing the fight to find answers.

Bring her home ASAP. How is this even still going on after 5 months??
I saw “ransom notes” and immediately thought someone was messing with the FBI. If some are fake/extortion and some might be real, that’s just heartbreaking and confusing.
Wait so the FBI changed their mind about the notes being legit? That sounds like incompetence but maybe I’m wrong. Either way, Tucson should’ve had more leads by now, like come on.
Five months is insane. I don’t even know what to believe when they say “some notes are legit” like what does that mean, they’re just guessing?? Also why is it always “local authorities remain the lead” like the FBI can’t just take over. I hope they find Nancy alive.
