Samsung may bring Galaxy S26 Ultra privacy display to S27

A new leak suggests Samsung could expand its Privacy Display “Flex Magic Pixel” technology beyond the Galaxy S26 Ultra—potentially rolling it out across the entire Galaxy S27 lineup, including standard, Plus, Pro, and Ultra models.
For a lot of Galaxy buyers, the Ultra doesn’t just feel like “the best one”—it feels like the only one that gets the good stuff. Now, a leak is pointing to a change that could make that frustration fade, fast.
One of the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s most useful features—Samsung’s anti-peeking Privacy Display—may not stay Ultra-exclusive for long. The claim is that Samsung is preparing to bring its Privacy Display technology to the entire Galaxy S27 lineup.
The rumor ties back to what’s expected to be a four-model Galaxy S27 series: the Galaxy S27, the Galaxy S27+, the new Galaxy S27 Pro, and the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The Elec reports that all four models will get Samsung Display’s Flex Magic Pixel technology as a standard feature.
If that sounds like a small spec shift, it isn’t. The Galaxy S26 Ultra was the first Galaxy S phone from Samsung to roll out this feature, and it’s the kind of upgrade that doesn’t just impress in a demo—it helps in real life, especially in crowded spaces where side glances happen.
Flex Magic Pixel is Samsung’s hardware-based privacy display technology. In normal mode, the screen behaves like a regular smartphone display with a wide viewing angle. When privacy mode is turned on. the display limits side visibility. so the person directly in front can still read what’s on screen. while people looking from the left or right have a much harder time seeing.
It’s also designed to avoid the messy compromises that come with traditional privacy screen protectors. Those often end up dimming the display, making it grainier, or generally worse to use. Samsung’s approach is built into the OLED panel itself.
Still, even if the leak is directionally right, it comes with caveats. Samsung has not confirmed the Galaxy S27 lineup or any privacy display rollout, and The Elec notes that privacy display tech has technical hurdles—especially around resolution, brightness, and power consumption.
Taken together. the story points to a shift in how Samsung may handle one of its most everyday “I wish everyone had this” features. For now. it’s an early report—worth watching closely. because if Privacy Display really expands beyond the Ultra. it would change what “worth upgrading” means across the Galaxy S line.

So basically they’re putting the Ultra feature on the cheaper ones? about time.
Not gonna lie, I hate when they lock the good privacy stuff behind the Ultra. If they do this for the whole S27 line then fine I guess. But knowing Samsung it’ll still be “limited” in some way.
I saw something about “privacy display” and thought it was like those screen protectors that make everything dim and blurry… so is this that same thing or are they just calling it different? also how is it not burning more battery? seems like marketing.
Leaks always make it sound like everyone gets the cool stuff, then it’s only in one mode or only for certain apps or whatever. Plus if it limits side visibility then does it also mess with brightness? I’m just waiting for the review because Samsung privacy stuff has been hit or miss for me.
