The Royal Palace in Brussels will reopen its doors to visitors from 3 July to 16 August following a major two-year renovation project. This is the first time that the emblematic site opens for the summer since the works started in 2024. Visitors can view the art and architectural splendours of the Throne Room (pictured above), the Great Gallery, the Empire Room, the imposing main stairway and vestibule designed by Alphonse Balat for King Leopold II, and the gardens of the refurbished palace. The palace
serves as the administrative headquarter of the Belgian monarchy and it is where King Philip maintains his office. The summer re-opening also presents four temporary exhibitions in collaboration with different partners: Louise d’Orléans by the Royal Dynasty and Cultural Heritage Association, Music, Sound and Imagination by Belspo, Selection of Dream Machines by MyMachine and The Royal Palace as the Palace of Memory by the Memory Palace in the Mirror Room (pictured above). free for children under 13. Book here. A collaboration with Belgian rail company SNCB enables travellers to benefit from a 40% reduction on a second-class return ticket to Brussels.
