Rhyne Howard hits 36 as Dream cruise past Sun

Rhyne Howard scored 36 points with eight three-pointers as the Atlanta Dream defeated the Connecticut Sun 91-75 on Tuesday night for their fourth straight win in the series.
When Rhyne Howard’s seventh three-pointer dropped with 3:26 left, it put the Atlanta Dream up 80-69—and the message was clear. This was going to be another night where Atlanta’s offense didn’t just click, it kept pressing.
Howard finished with 36 points, hitting eight three-pointers in a 91-75 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night. It was the Dream’s fourth straight win in the series, and it began with force: Howard and Allisha Gray combined for 40 of Atlanta’s 50 points in the first half.
Howard went 8 of 14 from the field, including five three-pointers, for 22 points before the break. Gray added 26 points—going 5 of 10 with three three-pointers for 18 in the first half. The rest of the team combined to shoot 4 of 8 in that opening stretch.
The third quarter still had Atlanta on edge, and Connecticut made a push at just the right time. But the Dream closed the end of the third on a run. Angel Reese hit her first three-pointer for Atlanta to start a 7-0 run that swung the momentum into a 68-65 lead heading into the fourth. Atlanta then took control early in the final period, scoring the first seven points for a 10-point advantage.
Howard’s eighth three-pointer—an 80-69 lead already secure at 3:26—followed to extend the margin to 12. By the time it was over, the Dream had been steady from deep, going 14 of 37 from 3-point range.
Connecticut’s night was led by Aneesah Morrow, who recorded 20 points and 13 rebounds. Saniya Rivers and Leila Lacan scored 11 points each, and Olivia Nelson-Ododa added 10.
One of the sharpest stretches for the Sun came when they ran cold: Connecticut was scoreless for over six minutes across the third-quarter break. Their first points of the fourth didn’t arrive until 4:39 remaining.
For Atlanta, Reese finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Jordin Canada posted 12 points and 10 assists to round out a balanced performance that helped carry the Dream to the win.
Connecticut now turns to its next game, playing at Chicago on Friday. Atlanta heads out on the road to play Indiana on Thursday.

36 points and 8 threes?? must be nice lol
I didn’t watch but 91-75 sounds like Atlanta just ran away with it. Also “scoreless for over six minutes” is wild, like how does a whole team go cold that long?
How is “eight three-pointers” still a thing if they’re up 80-69 with 3:26 left… like at that point the game should’ve been done? Maybe they choked a little? Not sure, I only saw a clip.
I swear it’s always the same story with these games—one run and then everyone forgets how to score. Connecticut being scoreless for 6+ minutes in the third is insane. But also 14 of 37 from three for Atlanta?? that’s like fireworks lol. Now they gotta play Indiana? good luck, Indiana defense is tough from what I’ve heard.
