REVEALED: How Ariana Grande’s Ex Ethan Slater Feels Now That She’s Rekindled Romance With Ricky Alvarez!
Ethan Slater’s feelings have now finally been revealed on the heels of his split from Ariana Grande after seeing her move on with another ex.
It’s been a whirlwind year for the pop sensation coming off the release of Wicked: For Good last November, working on and releasing her latest album Petal, launching her Eternal Sunshine Tour, and ending her relationship with Ethan.
And as we’ve been following, she’s since moved on with Ricky Alvarez, a former backup dancer she previously dated between 2015 and 2016.

Well, on Tuesday, an insider opened up to RadarOnline about Ariana and Ricky’s romantic rekindling:
“There’s obviously still a lot of chemistry between Ariana and Ricky. She spent the July 4th holiday with him and when he was at her show in Texas on June 26, she changed the lyrics about him to be nicer. Besides that, she liked all of his Instagram posts.”
The Hate That I Made You Love Me singer hard launched their reconnection in June, when she switched up the lyrics of Thank U, Next to reflect her renewed connection with Ricky, who was in attendance. She changed the lyrics from “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh,” to “Wrote some songs about Ricky / And they still kinda slap.”
At later tour dates, she kept the rewrites coming:
“Wrote some songs about Ricky / I know he’s still got my back”
“Wrote some songs about Ricky / We always find our way back”
Pretty cute!
That, mixed with her steamy new song Bad Thing (Bunny Hop) that fans are convinced is about the photographer, the question is, well, how is Ethan handling it?
On Tuesday, the RadarOnline source told the outlet:
“Poor Ethan keeps insisting that he’s happy if Ariana’s happy. But it’s hard to believe this isn’t painful for him. He was so all in and so was Ariana. Then, suddenly she dumped him and seems to have moved on like it’s no big deal.”
As we’ve followed for multiple years now, Ariana and Ethan sparked controversy when they first got together in 2023 on the set of Wicked. At the time, Ari was going through her divorce from Dalton Gomez, while Ethan had recently welcomed his first child with ex Lilly Jay, his high school sweetheart. Where relationships ended and began were VERY murky from a public perspective leading to a LOT of backlash.
Over the weekend, a source shot down rumors that Ethan was trying to return to his ex Lilly Jay after parting ways with Ariana. The insider assured the outlet they are just focused on co-parenting.
