Remedy Tree brings bluegrass to Merville Hall June 17

Once again, bluegrass is taking over the Big Yellow Merville hall. On Wednesday, June 17, Remedy Tree, a rocking Americana/bluegrass band from Florida, will play a full concert for our listening pleasure. Coming to us with accolades from Jason Carter and other respected voices in the bluegrass world, Remedy Tree will knock our collective socks off with their stellar musicianship. The band has shared the stage with legendary artists such as Peter Rowan, The Steeldrivers, Ricky Skaggs, Town Mountain, Rhonda Vincent, and Della Mae. As
a selected 2023 IBMA Ramble Showcase band, they have demonstrated their prowess within the industry. Founded by Gabriel (guitar) and Abigail (stand up bass) Acevedo the band has a strong, indie-folk sound. With Isaac Taylor on banjo and Nathan Beaumont on mandolin Remedy Tree is a uniquely Americana experience that provides a fresh perspective into where bluegrass is headed in the future. Remedy Tree is playing at the Cowichan Bluegrass Festival on the June 19-21 weekend but, lucky for us, they will be making a
stop enroute in the Comox Valley to play a concert. The band is sure to bring joy to bluegrass-curious newbies and dyed-in-the-wool fans alike. And here is a great promotional offer as any concert attendees will get $30 off a weekend pass to the Cowichan Valley Bluegrass Festival June 19-21. Hold on to your ticket stub and you can use the discount code MERVILLE on the Cowichan Festival ticket site. If you have any questions, contact Bob Remington at 250-217-7738. So, on Wednesday, June 17th, the bluegrass-stained doors of the Big Yellow Merville hall will swing open at 7:00pm for a 7:30 show. Tickets are $25.00 adult, $15.00 youth, at Long & McQuade, Courtenay and Blue Heron, Comox. There may be tickets at the door, too. You won’t be disappointed. FMI 250-339-4249

Wait so is this the one with that Florida band?? Sounds cool but I’m confused on the discount thing.
June 17 at Merville Hall, 7:30 show right? I swear I heard Remedy Tree is like… R&B or something? Either way, $25 seems reasonable. Who’s Bob Remington though, like the ticket guy?
reply to 1 yeah I read it fast and thought the $30 off was for the Merville Hall tickets, not the festival pass. Also “MERVILLE” code??? I keep thinking it’s a password from 1999. Hopefully there’s tickets at the door because my schedule is a mess.
Bluegrass again lol. Isn’t this like the same weekend as everything else in the valley? But Remedy Tree sharing stages with Ricky Skaggs and all that, okay I’ll admit that’s kinda wild. I don’t even know who Town Mountain is, I just like banjos. If they play at 7:30 I’ll show up whenever I’m done with work. $15 youth is nice though.
