Rayman Legends: Retold Screenshots Leak Before Official Reveal

Gameplay screenshots of Rayman Legends: Retold appeared online before today’s embargo, showing a visual overhaul and hinting at a two-game bundle. The remake is still set to be revealed during today’s PlayStation State of Play and releases on October 1, 2026.

The first sign something had slipped wasn’t a trailer or a studio post. It was a handful of Rayman Legends: Retold gameplay screenshots appearing online ahead of today’s embargo date—then disappearing almost as quickly.

The images were posted as part of an outlet’s preview of Rayman Legends: Retold, but the preview went live early by mistake. The article has since been deleted, but it remains available via the Wayback Machine.

What people who already saw the screenshots are focusing on is the look. The watercolouring style has been removed altogether and replaced with a more modern water-based aesthetic. It’s a change fans will recognize instantly. because it isn’t just a minor tweak—it’s the kind of shift that reshapes how the game will feel the moment it’s on screen.

There’s another reason this leak has hit the gaming community hard: Rayman Legends was first released in September 2013. and remaking a game that still holds up has long been a point of contention among series fans. With the visuals seemingly overhauled—and with new features. new levels. and more—Rayman Legends: Retold isn’t being framed as a simple re-release. It’s being positioned as something remade in its own image.

The screenshots also connect to other leak claims that have circulated alongside this one. Rayman Legends: Retold is expected to include the original Rayman Origins for free, effectively turning the release into a two-for-one combo deal. The game is also said to include couch co-op.

The timing matters, too. The game is scheduled to release on October 1, 2026, across Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. And while an official preview planned for later tonight won’t happen the way it was intended. the leak has already dragged forward the most shareable part of the reveal—the visuals themselves.

Rayman Legends: Retold is understood to be revealed as part of today’s PlayStation State of Play, leaving a narrow window for what’s left to be confirmed once the studio gets its turn.

  1. Wait the watercolor look is gone?? That was like the whole vibe of Rayman. If they changed it too much I’m not buying, sorry.

  2. I saw people say it’s a two-game bundle with Origins included for free… but could be fake. Also how does couch co-op work if they’re “remaking” it? Like is it still split screen or what

  3. Wayback machine is the only way to read stuff now it seems. Also October 1, 2026 is so far… unless they rushed the State of Play because they got caught. Either way I bet it’s just a remaster with extra steps, not “retold” like they say.
