Rachel Chinouriri Announces New Album, Shares New Single ‘One song away from crying’ – Our Culture

Rachel Chinouriri has announced her second album, I think I spoke too soon. The follow-up to 2024’s What a Devastating Turn of Events is set for release on October 16 via Parlophone/Atlas Artists. Today, she’s shared the sparkling lead single ‘One song away from crying’, alongside a Dora Paphides-directed video. Check it out below.
“‘One song away from crying’ is about the precipice of a night out where you know you need to leave and have to make a decision,” Chinouriri explained in a statement. “It’s a deeper decision because it’s less about the night itself but more about a reflection of a deeper internal conflict with your self value that you haven’t looked at yet.”
“My core thing is you can change who you are at any moment and you can forgive yourself at any moment,” she added. “And I think forgiving yourself is the first step in becoming a better person.”
Chinouriri will go on tour in support of the record, beginning in Los Angeles on August 26. She’ll also perform at Olivia Rodrigo’s inaugural Daisy Chain Fields Festival, which takes place in California next month.
