Puka Nacua reveals why former Rams WR’s presence hits differently

Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua aims for redemption soon and this time, reveals the impact of having a past LA star with him.

Puka Nacua looks ready to roll in Melbourne, Australia amid a turbulent NFL offseason. Fans of the Los Angeles Rams expect a rejuvenated wide receiver against the San Francisco 49ers. Nacua may have Robert Woods to thank for helping redeem himself.

The fan favorite known as “Bobby Trees” has installed his own presence in front of the All-Pro. Nacua got honest about Woods’ impact via Nick Hamilton of Nitecast Media Monday.

“I think by some of the standards that we have in that room, I think there’s a mentality and mindset that was here and it’s pretty cool to have Robert Woods in the room,” Nacua said.

Nacua watched a lot of past Woods film during his famed Rams run through Sean McVay. Which came during a time Nacua was rising as a national high school recruit.

“I felt my identity in that toughness and that style of play that he showed here,” Nacua said in realizing Woods’ game is similar to his. “So to have him in the room, I think is an extra chip on our shoulder like, alright, we see what you put on tape and it’s time for us to do the same.”

The 34-year-old Woods dove into coaching this season and immediately returned to the Rams. Now he’s helping oversee Nacua and Davante Adams, who Nacua adds he’s also learning lots from.

Nacua dealt with off-the-field distractions. One involving a controversial dance gesture Nacua made during an internet streaming video with influencers Adin Ross and N3on. Then a woman accused Nacua of biting her shoulder during a New Year’s Eve event and filed a restraining order (Nacua isn’t likely to face NFL discipline). Now Nacua feels refreshed with Woods officially in his corner.
