Puka Nacua facing potential suspension from NFL, could miss Week 1
Puka Nacua could be facing a potential suspension from the NFL for his actions on New Year’s Eve when he allegedly bit a woman and made antisemitic remarks.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported on Tuesday that Nacua could still be suspended by the league, putting him in danger of missing the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers.
“Cases that I believe are now being reviewed include that of the Rams wide receiver, Puka Nacua, who could potentially face discipline for some of the off-season headlines that accompanied him and some of those incidents last year with another woman, what did and didn’t occur,” Schefter said. “We’ll leave that to the NFL to figure out what did and didn’t happen, but it’s possible that when the Niners and Rams play in Australia, it’s within the realm of options that Puka doesn’t play in that game.”
Sean McVay said this offseason that he and the Rams are letting the legal process play out and will wait for word from the NFL about any potential discipline, sharing no real updates on the possibility of Nacua being suspended.
Nacua has taken steps to improve off the field, checking into rehab and seeing a therapist, as well as keeping a journal.
