Prince Harry had ‘no life’ and ‘no friends’ in California, source says: ‘There was no common ground with anyone’ 

Prince Harry reportedly didn’t adjust well when he and Meghan Markle moved to the United States.

According to a source, the Duke of Sussex didn’t have a community to support him while living in Montecito, Calif.

After leaving The Firm in 2020, Harry left behind everything he’s ever known in the U.K.

“He had no life in California, no friends,” an insider told the New York Post.

“There was no common ground with anyone,” the source claimed.

People in their neighborhood ‘never saw’ Harry and Meghan

The Spare author and his wife reportedly weren’t the friendliest people in the neighborhood.

“I’m out and about in Montecito a lot and never saw them,” author and resident Robert Eringer told Daily Mail.

“I doubt anyone would have noticed they’d left if it hadn’t been reported in the news,” the writer added.

Harry and Meghan returned a welcome gift from a neighbor

A second local, Susan, claimed she left a gift for the pair when they first moved to America.

“I left a bottle of wine at their gate to welcome them and it was returned to me, unopened, the following day,” she told the publication.

“I’m not sure they ever wanted to hang out with anyone who wasn’t a billionaire or famous or both,” the neighbor said of their behavior.

Harry gave Meghan an ultimatum to return to England

While the With Love, Meghan star was reportedly content to move back to her home state, her spouse wasn’t as happy across the pond.

“Harry basically told Meghan, ‘Move back with me, or it’s over,’” an insider told Closer.  

“He’d become desperately unhappy living in America and was determined to spend far more time in Britain,” the source added. “Meghan knew Harry was serious. He’d reached the point where he told her that either he was going to start spending a significant amount of time in the U.K. on his own, or they needed to make the move together as a family.”
