Police: Person held pregnant woman hostage with gun during dramatic chase on I-93 in Milton

A pregnant woman was held hostage with a gun during a police chase on I-93 in Milton Wednesday morning, police said.

Around 7:20 a.m., State Police received a report of a suspected hostage held by a firearm in a moving SUV on I-93 North in Quincy, police said. 

State Police located the vehicle near exit 9, and a pursuit began when the vehicle failed to stop, police said. 

During the chase, the suspect crashed into eight vehicles before attempting to flee on foot near exit 11, police said. 

The suspect, identified as Dominic Hampton-Boyd, 31, of Roxbury, was taken into custody, and a firearm was seized from the vehicle, according to State Police. 

State Police administered medical care to the victim, police said. Police have not released information about the extent of her injuries.

Hampton-Boyd is set to be arraigned in Quincy District Court on multiple charges, police said. Officials have not released information about what charges he will face, and attorney information for him was not available Wednesday night.
