Police investigating after toddler suffers ‘self-inflicted’ gunshot wound in N.H.

A 3-year-old child was seriously injured after accidentally shooting themself in a parked vehicle in Hooksett, New Hampshire, police said. 

The incident took place about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in a driveway. Authorities determined the victim suffered a “self-inflicted gunshot wound,” the Hooksett Police Department said in a statement shared on Facebook.

The child was taken to Elliot Hospital and later med-flighted to a Boston hospital, police said.  

Police described the child’s injuries as serious, but non-life-threatening. 

Hooksett Police said that all parties involved are cooperating with the ongoing criminal investigation.
