Police investigate $30,000 landscaping theft spree at college

Massasoit Community College says police are investigating a string of break-ins in which thieves stole $30,000 in landscaping equipment from a maintenance building three times over two days, using a stolen pickup truck to flee.
For the third time in two days, the maintenance building at Massasoit Community College was broken into—each entry ending the same way: landscaping equipment missing, and police chasing a getaway that wouldn’t stop.
State Police said the robberies happened between May 23 and May 25 at the Brockton community college. In that window, thieves struck the Massasoit Community College maintenance building three separate times. Police said the suspects stole $30,000 worth of landscaping equipment.
The pattern, police said, was tied to a vehicle. Officials said the suspects broke into the building on three occasions and used a stolen pickup truck as their getaway vehicle. The truck was a silver Ford F-150 bearing Massachusetts license plate number 2SEB87. which police said was stolen May 23 from a Brockton home.
State Police said they did get close at least once. Officials said at one point police pursued the stolen truck, but the suspects were able to evade capture.
Police are now asking for help from anyone with information about the case. People can contact Massasoit Community College Police Sergeant Christopher Trucchi at 508 588-9100, ext. 1037, or the State Police Detective Unit at 508 894-2600.

How do they even steal landscaping stuff three times??
So they stole $30,000 in like mowers and stuff and then drove off in a stolen truck? Seems crazy that the truck didn’t get stuck or ran outta gas or whatever.
Wait so the truck was stolen from May 23 from a Brockton home, right? I feel like if police got close once, then why couldn’t they just ID it from the plate 2SEB87 like immediately…
This is why I don’t trust anyone with a pickup lol. Silver Ford F-150 with that plate number sounds like it’d be easy to track, but of course “they were able to evade capture” 🙄 also isn’t Massasoit like connected to the city? wonder if it was an inside job or college kids selling equipment on the side.
