Pokémon GO is adding a new timed research format for non-event weeks: Choose Your Path lets trainers pick one of three daily goals—Explore, Catch, or Battle—during specific weeks from June through August, with each choice shaping tasks and bonuses.
On a regular Pokémon GO week, most players get the same rhythm: log in, complete daily tasks, and move on. Now Niantic is giving trainers a way to change that rhythm—by letting them choose what kind of week they want.
The new “Choose Your Path Timed Research” arrives during Pokémon GO’s non-event weeks. and it’s built around a simple decision. During each Choose Your Path week, trainers can select one of three paths: Explore, Catch, or Battle. That choice determines the Timed Research tasks and bonuses throughout the week. The game also notes that different trainers may have different research opportunities than others.
The first window starts mid-June. “Choose Your Path: Fossil Fun” runs from Wednesday, June 17, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, June 21, at 8:00 p.m. Those times are local, and the same local timing applies across every listed week.
After that, a second themed week follows quickly. “Choose Your Path: Charged Embers” takes place from Tuesday, June 30, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, July 3, at 8:00 p.m.
Then the calendar stretches into late summer. “Choose Your Path: Fairy Trail” is scheduled from Tuesday, July 28, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, August 3, at 8:00 p.m. Next comes “Choose Your Path: Venom and Vines,” running from Tuesday, August 11, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, August 17, at 8:00 p.m.
The core shift here is that non-event weeks won’t just be a lull between major happenings. With each Choose Your Path week. the game turns that downtime into an experiment in how you want to play—by making your selection the driver of what you’ll do and what you’ll earn.
