Thiel’s invitation-only Wicklow conference draws sharp backlash

Controversy has erupted over a planned conference later this summer, which will be hosted by German-American billionaire Peter Thiel . Here’s what you need to know. an annual event – this year’s is reportedly scheduled to take place at the Powerscourt Hotel in Enniskerry, in Wicklow, between August 12 and 16. Those believed to have been invited include a Nato commander, officials from the Trump administration, US senators, along with a former Middle East intelligence chief and reps from the US’s largest surveillance and data companies. Tech website Wired report some topics which will be discussed include preparing for World War Three, “money (does?) buy happiness”, battlefield technologies, nuclear energy and
