For Cubs and White Sox fans. Sunday has a new kind of countdown: not to first pitch. but to which screen you’ll be watching on. NBCUniversal’s “Star-Spangled Sunday” is set to put all 15 MLB games on the schedule in one media footprint. and this time. Peacock is central—an unusual move for a single day.

The package includes two games on NBC and three games on NBC Sports Network that will simulcast on Peacock. Every other game will be exclusive to Peacock. That means the Sox-Guardians game at 1 p.m. and Cardinals-Cubs at 1:30 p.m. will live only on Peacock.

Each game will come with its own dedicated broadcast crew. with some crews blending announcers and staff from the teams playing. Guardians play-by-play voice Matt Underwood will join Sox analyst Steve Stone in the booth. with Guardians reporter Andre Knott on the field. For the Cubs game, the crew is listed as Alex Cohen, Mark Sweeney and Taylor McGregor.

NBC Sports’ senior vice president of production and coordinating producer Rob Hyland said there will be no “home base studio show on the day. ” but fans should notice consistency across presentations—especially in the graphics. “There is no home base studio show on the day. but there will be consistency throughout all these presentations in the graphics look. ” Hyland said. adding that the coverage will carry over as viewers flip between games.

Hyland also described how the visual layout will hold steady across most matchups: “The upper left score bar that you see in our coverage will be consistent on 14 of the 15 games. The NESN game. featuring the Red Sox and Angels. will use their own bar. but the theme music will be consistent. There will be a lot of carryover as you are flipping from game to game.”.

The schedule starts with a pregame show at 11 a.m. on NBC and Peacock, then the “MLB Sunday Leadoff” game with Mets-Braves begins at 11:30 a.m. NBC’s other game comes in the evening with “Sunday Night Baseball,” featuring Padres-Dodgers at 6 p.m.

NBC Sports Network will handle three additional games: Twins-Yankees at 12:30 p.m., Blue Jays-Mariners at 4 p.m., and Red Sox-Angels at 8:30 p.m. All times are Eastern.

Peacock will also offer a multiview option for fans who want to watch more than one game at once. “MLB Multiview” will allow up to four games at a time in a curated four-box view of the top matchups. with viewers able to switch audio from each game. It also includes a catch-up feature designed to let people see key plays they may have missed.

For fans who don’t have Peacock, YouTube TV subscribers who don’t subscribe to Peacock will still have access to every game as part of YouTube’s agreement with NBCUniversal.

By Sunday morning, the message for baseball fans is simple: the first pitch is at 12:30 p.m. for “MLB Sunday Leadoff,” but the bigger decision is where you’ll be watching from—especially if you’re checking on the Sox and Cubs.

  1. I don’t even have Peacock half the time, and now it’s like, every single game?? Thought MLB was national. Also “countdown to first pitch” is kinda cringe lol.

  2. Wait, is it only Cubs and White Sox that are on Peacock or like the whole league? The article wording made it sound like NBC still shows some but then it says exclusive. I’m confused. If Guardians-Sox is only on Peacock, cool, but then I’ll just watch highlights instead.

  3. This is the first time NBC is doing this in one day, sure, but it feels like they’re trying to trap people into another subscription. “No home base studio show” sounds like they’re barely trying. And dedicated crews for each game… okay, but can they also just make it easy to switch without commercials killing you? Graphics consistency won’t save it if the games keep buffering.
