Paris Jackson Seeks $463,752 Interest Over MJ Estate

Paris Jackson says Michael Jackson’s estate executors should return $625K in bonuses—and now wants an additional $463,752 in interest tied to the amounts owed. The executors’ side insists the latest filing will be rejected and points to their ongoing work buil
Paris Jackson has already won a major ruling in her battle over her late father’s estate—but she’s pushing the fight right back into court for more money.
Last week, a Los Angeles judge sided with Paris when he ruled that $625K in bonuses paid to outside law firms that worked on Michael Jackson’s estate must be returned to the estate.
John Branca and John McClain— the two executors running Michael Jackson’s estate since his death in 2009—had argued that the bonuses were typical for the music industry, particularly because the year the bonuses were paid, the estate locked down several big deals.
In newly filed court documents, Paris now is seeking interest on what she says should be owed back. Michael’s daughter says the executors should be responsible for $463,752 in interest that accrued on the amounts to be returned to the estate.
The estate’s representatives dispute where this is heading.. A rep for the estate tells MISRYOUM. “The Executors are aware of the filing and are confident it will be rejected in due course.. The Executors’ focus at this time. however. is on continuing to celebrate Michael Jackson and grow the Estate’s business in light of the record-breaking success of the motion picture ‘Michael.’”
The tension inside the courtroom back-and-forth is clear: even as the judge ruled in Paris’ favor on the $625K bonuses, the judge also praised the executors at the hearing for delivering value to the estate.
At the time, the executors’ rep told MISRYOUM, “We are gratified that the Court itself recognized and praised the work of the Executors and its outside counsel in today’s decision.”
The rep added. “While the Court has previously approved several other bonuses to outside counsel over the years for their extraordinary services. and this was the first time they were the subject of objections. the Executors have always understood that legal fees are subject to court approval and have always required outside counsel to agree to return any funds to the estate if the payments were not approved.”
The estate rep also pointed out that the bonuses ordered returned were paid to third-party law firms rather than to the executors themselves.
A pattern emerges from the sequence of filings and rulings: the court’s decision last week required returning $625K in bonuses. and Paris is now asking for $463. 752 in interest tied to the same amounts. while the estate counters that the new request will be rejected even as it emphasizes the executors’ continued praise from the judge and its focus on growing the estate after the record-breaking success of ‘Michael.’

So she won already but wants even more interest? Wild.
I don’t get why the estate people are fighting it if the judge already said bonuses gotta come back. Sounds like they’re just dragging it out for no reason.
Wait, is that $463k interest on top of the $625k bonuses, or is it like… separate? Because I saw something else online that said she’s asking for like millions, so now I’m confused lol
All this because of law firm bonuses? Next they’ll say it was “typical industry” like that makes it fine. Also the movie getting record success doesn’t mean they didn’t mess up the accounting, but whatever.
