Former Attorney General Pam Bondi was diagnosed with thyroid cancer shortly after President Trump removed her from her role. She underwent treatment and is recovering, as reports describe. The disclosure lands as Trump has tapped Bondi to join an AI-focused ad

Pam Bondi’s name hit social media again for something she never asked to be public: cancer.

A report says Bondi was diagnosed with thyroid cancer shortly after President Trump removed her as attorney general. Bondi, 60, underwent treatment for the disease and is recovering, according to the report.

The timing is what has people watching. Bondi was fired from her post the same day she accompanied the president to the Supreme Court to watch oral arguments in a major birthright citizenship case. She then went on to be tapped for another high-profile role: a seat on the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST). an AI-focused advisory committee.

On social media, praise followed the news of her diagnosis. Podcast host and former White House official Katie Miller wrote on X, “Pam has been quietly kicking cancer’s ass the last few weeks,” adding, “[Bondi] has a heart of gold.”

Bondi has also carried her message of determination through her own posts. After her ouster. she vowed to “continue fighting for President Trump.” In a statement on X last month. she also wrote: “Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime. and easily the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history.”.

“I remain eternally grateful for the trust that President Trump placed in me to Make America Safe Again,” she wrote.

Medical facts sit sharply beside the political headlines. The Cleveland Clinic says most thyroid cancers are permanently curable with treatment, and notes that with a five-year survival rate of over 98%, the prognosis is considered “excellent.”

The story also echoes a private battle in Trump’s orbit. Trump’s son-in-law. Jared Kushner. secretly battled thyroid cancer while serving a high-profile role in the White House during the president’s first term. he revealed in his memoir. Kushner said he had surgery to remove a tumor from his throat while handling Middle East affairs for Trump. After his White House tenure, he underwent a second thyroid surgery in 2022.

Bondi’s return to the spotlight comes as the Justice Department leadership shifts again. After her firing. Trump tapped Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche to serve as interim AG while he decides on a permanent replacement. The White House did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Bondi’s condition, described as treatable and improving, has not dulled the larger question her new appointment raises: how quickly public life and political duty resume when a diagnosis lands—especially just after a job removal that happened on the same day as a Supreme Court appearance.
