The former Syracuse football standout brings extensive experience and leadership to Green Bay. He led the NFL with 173 tackles in 2024, earning his first Pro Bowl selection and second-team All-Pro honors from the Associated Press.

That communication is important throughout the secondary. Defensive backs must recognize motion, exchange coverage responsibilities, and address potential breakdowns before the snap.
Franklin’s comparison offered a strong endorsement from the veteran responsible for relaying Green Bay’s defensive calls. It also comes as the Packers continue installing Gannon’s system, placing additional importance on communication throughout training camp.
The second-team All-Pro in 2024 has yet to play a regular-season snap for the Packers. However, Franklin’s early confidence suggests the secondary is developing the chemistry needed to operate cohesively once the season begins.
