Court orders cocaine gang to repay £10,000+

Members of an organised crime group who sold cocaine through the use of two drugs lines have been ordered to pay back more than £10,000 after benefiting by more than £300,000 between them. They sent out hundreds of text messages advertising the sale of cocaine in South Wales. Callum Nocivelli, 26, Gareth Hall, 27, and Declan Carr, 27, were involved in the supply of cocaine in Newport , Cwmbran and Pontypool. Drugs warrants were executed at four properties in the Bettws area of Newport in
2024 after police received intelligence from a phone seized in a separate investigation. Officers from Gwent Police’s East Serious Organised Crime Team arrested Nocivelli and Carr in July, but Hall was overseas. He was arrested in a supermarket car park in Cwmbran in September. All three defendants pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs. years imprisonment and Carr was sentenced to four years imprisonment at a sentencing hearing last year. Speaking last year, PC Matthew Tucker, the officer in the case, said: “The evidence we gathered showed clearly that the two mobile phone numbers associated with this organised crime group had a plethora of text messages connected to the sale of cocaine. “We identified Nocivelli as having a leading role in managing this illegal drugs operation; Hall was also a significant member, and Carr was dispatched as a runner
to carry out the deals. “With overwhelming evidence against them, all three defendants had little option but to plead guilty to the charges they faced in court.” A Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday heard Nocivelli benefited to the tune of £191,814 as a result of his offending, but only has assets worth £9,960. Judge Paul Hobson ordered the defendant to pay the latter sum within three months, or serve an additional nine months imprisonment in default. Carr benefited
to the tune of £130,727 as a result of his offending, but only has available assets worth £1,425. Judge Hobson ordered the defendant to pay the available sum within three months or serve an additional one month imprisonment in default. Pay back 10 grand for 300k? That seems like nothing honestly.
So they made like £300,000 and court orders £10,000+ back… how does that even work. I mean I’m not surprised they texted people, criminals always text like it’s normal.
This says he benefited £191,814 but only has assets worth £9,960. So he’s basically broke but still somehow sold pounds of cocaine?? Sounds like they’re just going after whatever they found on a phone or something.
I don’t get why the other guy was overseas like that matters. If you’re overseas and still running a drug line… congrats? Also 9 months in default??? That’s not really a “repay” more like extra time to do the same thing but in prison.
