Prime Video didn’t just announce another batch of steamy romance when Off Campus premiered Wednesday, May 13—it changed what fans thought they’d be watching next.
For season 2, the streaming service has confirmed the leads will be Allie (Mika Abdalla) and Dean (Stephen Kalyn), following a major book switch. Logan (Antonio Cipriano) and Grace (India Fowler) are presumably next in line.
The series is based on the Off Campus book series by Elle Kennedy. and its official synopsis sets the tone right away: an elite ice hockey team—and the women in their lives—grappling with love. heartbreak and self-discovery while forging deep friendships and enduring bonds through the complexities of transitioning into adulthood.
Season 1. meanwhile. is centered on a “sexy and fun ‘opposites attract’ romance” between quiet songwriter Hannah and Briar University’s all-star hockey athlete Garrett. In Kennedy’s book order. the next stories were expected to land on Logan first. then Dean before Tucker’s (Jalen Thomas Brooks) turn. Instead, season 2 now bends toward Allie and Dean.
That shift has also pulled attention back to what fans want most: will the people from season 1 stick around for the ride?. Before Prime Video formally spelled out the next couple. Ella Bright (19) and Belmont Cameli revealed whether they planned to return in future seasons. Cameli. 28. told Us Weekly. “I totally understand your concern.” He added that each season focuses on a different fictional couple. and then delivered the reassurance that everyone was hunting for: “We will be along for the ride the whole time.”.
Bright confirmed the plan is for them to be “sticking” around, and Cameli followed up with, “We’re excited to see what season 2 holds for [us].” The duo also gushed about their strong offscreen bond.
“Doing a job like this would be so miserable if you didn’t like your costar. ” Cameli shared. explaining that he and Bright are “really. really good friends” who “get along so well and we spend a ton of time together on set.” Bright echoed that energy to Us. saying. “Honestly. we just have so much fun. It’s so cool to be able to go on this journey with everybody who just cares so much about this show and these characters.” She added that everyone is there for the same reason and that it “definitely loosens the pressure a lot. because you’re sharing it with all these really great and talented people.”.
The announcement lands as Prime Video continues to lean hard into rom-coms and YA book adaptations. including a fan event called Obsessed Fest—described in its announcement as “an inaugural summer tentpole event”—set to celebrate upcoming titles. But at the center of Off Campus fandom is the question of what comes next. and Prime Video’s season 2 choice—Allie and Dean—makes the answer feel immediate.
