O’Donnell mocks Trump’s “no time” claim on Iran war

Donald Trump stepped out in front of reporters outside the White House and insisted he “doesn’t really have enough time” to explain his unpopular Iran war. Lawrence O’Donnell, watching the president from his studio chair, didn’t buy it.
In one clip, Trump argued he was “too busy” to lay out the conflict. He delivered that line while the appearance doubled as a platform for other topics, including the resurfacing of the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool.
Trump said the pool’s return would be “going to be beautiful,” “waterproof,” and “reflecting again.” O’Donnell, after watching the segment silently at first, cut in with a blunt follow-up: “Yeah, yeah, yeah. He said the pool is going to be ‘waterproof.’”
In a separate. roughly 1-minute clip. Trump spoke as workers hammered and drilled at the site for what he described as a major White House upgrade: a $400 million ballroom project. He offered glowing language about the structure he said is intended to become “one of the most beautiful buildings that’s ever been built in the country.”.
Trump claimed the design took notes from “glamorous times” in Rome and Greece. framing the building as a visual and strategic space. He described it as “a porch that looks out over the city. ” and added that it’s “developed in such a way that we can have military there. ” while also saying. “the entire roof is developed for military.”.
As he spoke over an artist rendering. Trump made sweeping claims about the roof and surveillance: he said the structures are “very high” and have “a 360-degree vision of Washington. D.C.” He also said they have “a massive drone capacity. ” and insisted the building was “drone-proof. ” claiming that “if a drone hits it. it bounces off. It won’t have any impact.”.
O’Donnell interrupted the president’s pitch with a simple verdict: “No time to explain his war.”
Earlier in his monologue, the host shifted from point-by-point mockery to a wider jab, congratulating Trump—mockingly—for what O’Donnell called a historic kind of dismissal. He said Trump had become “the first president in history” to claim he was “too busy” to explain a war he’s waging.
O’Donnell contrasted Trump’s approach with that of “every wartime president prior to Donald Trump. ” saying they were “much busier in their workday and their weekends” but “none of them ever said they were too busy to explain the war that America was waging.” He finished by calling it “Donald Trump’s unique contribution to the role of commander in chief.”.
