Odell Beckham Jr. is BACK with the Giants as 33-year-old makes roster after missing 2025 NFL season

Odell Beckham Jr. is back in the Big Apple, where the All-Pro wide receiver first became an NFL star a dozen years ago.

The Daily Mail can confirm the 33-year-old has made the Giants’ 53-man roster. He was out of football in 2025 while serving a six-game ban for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Previously he had been cut by the Miami Dolphins in December of 2024, only to languish on the free-agent market.

But after battling injuries in recent years, including the ACL tear he suffered in the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl LVI victory, Beckham finally looked healthy at training camp in East Rutherford, New Jersey. 

He finished the preseason with 76 yards and seven catches on 13 targets, several of which were poorly thrown passes. Most importantly, he showed some of his former quickness off the line and was able to beat coverage downfield.

‘I feel like I gave everything I had,’ Beckham previously told reporters about his hopes of making the team. ‘I’m just truly grateful for that opportunity, that experience. It was a tough couple years, taking a step back and deciding: “Do you go forward with life? Are you done?” The mental battles that we go through and just push through, persevere and overcome adversity.’ 

The Giants did cut veteran wideout Braxton Berrios as well as Jalin Hyatt, a third-round pick in 2023 who won the Biletnikoff Award at Tennessee a year earlier as the country’s best receiver.

Beckham had an impressive preseason, which included a few one-handed grabs in warmups

Beckham’s most famous highlight came with the Giants in 2014, when he made a one-handed touchdown catch while drawing a pass interference penalty against the rival Cowboys 

Beckham began his comeback journey in the spring and ultimately worked out for the Giants in April before signing with the team two months later. 

But with fellow LSU product Malik Nabers as well as Darius Slayton and Darnell Mooney ahead of him on the depth chart, it was unclear if Beckham would get another opportunity to play for the Giants. 

‘I don’t want to say exactly that he’s making it right now or not, what the considerations are, and things can happen,’ newly hired Giants coach John Harbaugh said of Beckham’s chances of making the roster last week. ‘But I think I would answer the question, yes, I think he has done enough to make an NFL roster, for sure. He’s played well.’ 

Beckham’s odds were certainly helped by a season-ending knee injury to Calvin Austin. 

Taken in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Beckham’s flashiness was not an obvious fit for then-coach Tom Coughlin’s Giants. But with one remarkable catch after another, including his unbelievable one-handed touchdown grab against the Dallas Cowboys, Beckham endeared himself to coaches, teammates and fans.

He would spend five seasons with the Giants before getting traded to Cleveland. Later he would be released amid locker-room tensions with the Browns before resurfacing with the Rams and helping them win Super Bowl LVI. He also spent a season in Baltimore, where he played for Harbaugh.
